rclone Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Allen Guarnes handles information used by a personal rclone OAuth application used to connect to Google services. Learn more about the app on the rclone homepage.

Scope

This policy applies only to apps and projects operated personally by Allen Guarnes. They are not offered as a commercial service and are not intended for public use.

Google user data

When rclone is connected to a Google service, it requests only the permissions needed to perform the actions you authorize, such as viewing, copying, syncing, uploading, downloading, or managing files in the Google account you choose.

The personal OAuth application does not collect, store, sell, rent, or share Google user data. Google account information, files, and metadata are not sent to a server operated by Allen Guarnes.

How data is used

Access granted through Google OAuth is used only by rclone on the device where it is configured, and only to carry out the file operations you initiate. OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are stored in rclone's local configuration on that device and are sent only to Google as required to authenticate and use Google's APIs.

Google user data is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the requested rclone operation.

Data retention and deletion

Because this personal OAuth application does not receive or retain Google user data, there is no Google user data held by Allen Guarnes to delete. You can revoke the application's access at any time from your Google Account security settings, and you can remove the relevant remote and tokens from your local rclone configuration.

This website

This website may process basic technical information needed to deliver pages, such as standard server logs. It does not use the personal rclone OAuth application to collect Google user data. Website analytics are currently disabled.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the personal apps or projects change. The "Last updated" date above will be revised when changes are made.
